We label our supplements ‘green’ to indicate products that are gentle on your gut and work with your microbiome in its early stages of repair.

What is the suggested use of the product?: Adults, as a dietary supplement, take one (1) capsule daily with a meal.
Why should I consider taking an Astaxanthin supplement?: It's extremely difficult to get adequate levels of astaxanthin from food, unless you eat six or more ounces of wild (not farmed) sockeye salmon every day or consume the microalgae that fish eat. Supplementation is a much more reliable (and affordable) means of getting a regular source of this important antioxidant for your body and brain.
I take Krill Oil, and that contains some astaxanthin. Do I need to take an Astaxanthin supplement too?: Our Antarctic Krill Oil does contain some astaxanthin, but only 2 mg per two capsule serving. Since most recommendations for astaxanthin start at 4 mg per day, Krill Oil won't provide enough.
Is it possible for air to get into the hard-shelled liquid capsules and degrade the astaxanthin?: We use several different technologies to help prevent air from getting into the capsules. First, our hard-shell liquid capsules are either sealed or banded and they contain a nitrogen bubble for freshness. Unlike soft gels, which contain plasticizers that create channels for moisture and oxygen to penetrate the capsules, hard shells do not.
Is it safe to consume this product while pregnant or nursing?: This product was not formulated specifically for pregnant or nursing women. We always recommend consulting with your health care provider before taking a new dietary supplement.
