- How do you guarantee that Bark & Whiskers® Antarctic Krill Oil is sustainably sourced?
To bring you Bark & Whiskers® Antarctic Krill Oil – the highest-quality, most environmentally friendly krill oil available – we partner with a fishery that has received an “A” rating from the Marine Stewardship Council, meaning it is ‘MSC Certified.’
In addition to taking the proper environmental steps to protect the krill species, this fishery uses methods and patent-pending technology that sets them apart from other fisheries. They use a direct hose connection mechanism to help ensure unwanted by-catch – like fish and seals – are singled out and released unharmed during harvesting. Plus, by using a continuous flow of water, they’re able to bring the krill directly into the harvesting vessel where they are kept alive and fresh. This results in a much fresher, high-quality product while minimizing the impacts on the environment.
- Can I give this product to my pet if she is pregnant or nursing?
This product was not formulated specifically for pregnant or nursing pets. We always recommend consulting with your veterinarian before giving your pet a new dietary supplement.
- Why is there a 'Cautions' statement on the label, and what does it mean?
This 'Cautions' statement must be included on all of our Bark & Whiskers® products as mandated by the National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) and is part of the organization's rigorous standards to ensure the highest level of product quality and animal safety. The NASC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the health of companion animals throughout the U.S. by promoting the safety, quality and integrity of animal health supplements. We follow these recommendations to ensure we are doing all we can to guarantee the safety and well-being of your pet, making sure our products meet the highest industry standards.
