About this item

Description

Sometimes you want the comfort of a full-flavored cup—just not the caffeine. The Decaf Dark Roast is meant to feel like the real thing: rich, satisfying, and smooth enough to enjoy in the evening. It’s a great choice for winding down after dinner, or anytime you want a cozy lower-caffeine option for the evening.

Our Whole Bean Decaf Dark Roast is crafted from single-origin, Class 1 specialty-grade 100% Arabica coffee from Finca Irlanda in Chiapas, Mexico, where the beans are grown under shade at 900–1,200 meters for slower, more refined development.

Highlights

  • An evening-ready cup that doesn’t feel like a compromise, Decaf Dark Roast is full-flavored and robust with a smooth dark-roast finish and a subtle hint of spice.
  • Each bag contains 12 oz. of whole coffee beans that are carefully grown and handpicked to support minimal environmental impact and consistent quality.
  • This gourmet brew is sourced exclusively from a single-origin, Class 1 specialty-grade Arabica coffee farm at Finca Irlanda in Chiapas, Mexico.
  • Following Dr. Mercola’s belief in providing the best quality products, our coffee comes from a farm that is managed as habitat, not factory, with a thriving environment that includes more than 200 species of birds recorded over time.
  • Developed with you in mind, Dr. Mercola’s products are only made with ingredients that meet our premium quality standards. Established in 1997, we have been a trusted source in natural health for nearly three decades.

  • Gluten Free
    • Our products do not contain gluten, which is a protein present in wheat, barley, rye and some oats, and is known to cause sensitivity in many individuals.
  • Soy Free
    • Our products are free of soy whenever possible due to its impact on hormones and common GMO status.

  1. What is the suggested use of this product?

We recommend a 1:16 brew ratio, using two (2) Tbsp. of freshly ground coffee per 6 fl. oz. of filtered water.

  2. Whole bean – what grind should I use?

Match the grind to your brew method:

    • Espresso machine: fine (powdery, but not clumpy)
    • Pour-over/drip: medium (like sand)
    • French press: coarse (like sea salt)
    • Cold brew: extra coarse (peppercorn-like)

If your coffee tastes sour or seems thin, go a bit finer with the grind. If it tastes bitter or appears dry, choose a coarser setting on your grinder.

  3. Which brew methods work best?

These beans are versatile. Drip and pour-over highlight clarity and aroma, French press emphasizes body, and espresso-style brewing brings out richer chocolate-leaning notes – especially in the Espresso Roast.

  4. How is this coffee handled to protect quality?

It is harvested in multiple passes for ripeness, de-pulped promptly, fermented and washed, then sun-dried and finished carefully for storage. Lots are sorted and hand-cleaned to remove imperfections, and export handling is managed to help avoid contamination.

  5. How should I store whole bean coffee for best freshness?

Keep it airtight, cool, dry, and preferably in a dark place. A pantry cabinet is ideal – avoid the fridge (moisture/odors) and keep the bag tightly sealed or transfer to an airtight container.

  6. How long will it stay fresh after opening?

For best taste, plan to enjoy it within 2–4 weeks of opening. Grind right before brewing whenever possible – that single step makes the biggest difference in aroma and flavor.
