How does Vitamin K2 differ from other K2 supplements?
Finding a natural source of vitamin K2 can be a real challenge. You have to be wary of risky synthetic imposters and keep a watchful eye on manufacturing quality.
Vitamin K2 stands above others because it’s made from chickpeas instead of soy, contains no bioengineered ingredients, is allergen-free, made with a stable fermentation process and uses patented, research-backed MenaQ7® in the formula for superior bioavailability. Also, like all our supplements, it undergoes many levels of independent, objective laboratory testing to ensure you get the highest quality product.

Are all the forms of vitamin K the same? Which one is most important for health?
There are two main forms of vitamin K: vitamin K1 and K2. Vitamin K1, while important for proper blood clotting, does little to support your arterial health. You can get it from your diet, mainly from green vegetables. Vitamin K1 goes straight to your liver and remains there until it is gone, within three to four hours, with your body only absorbing about 10% of the amount you consume.
On the other hand, nearly all of the vitamin K2 you consume is absorbed by your body and distributed to your bones and blood vessels where it provides many potential benefits. One of the best natural sources of vitamin K2 comes from an ancient Japanese food called natto. While there are many varieties of vitamin K2, vitamin K2-MK7 produced from natto is shown to be one of the most bioavailable, stable and beneficial varieties. This is the kind used in our Vitamin K2 formula.
A third form, vitamin K3, is a synthetic form that I recommend avoiding.

I’m currently getting vitamin K2 from another supplement – can I take too much?
Unlike nearly all supplements, researchers have yet to find a dose of vitamin K2 that is associated with toxicity. There are no known side effects of vitamin K2. We recommend taking vitamin D and calcium with vitamin K2 for optimal benefits.
