Iron from Organic Curry contains 50 mg of Vitamin C from Biodynamic® Organic Amla Fruit Extract and 7.5 mg of Iron from Biodynamic® Organic Curry Leaf Extract.
Iron comes in two types – heme (ferrous iron), which is found in meats, and non-heme (ferric iron), which is found in plants. Non-heme iron is the main type in your diet and also the type contained in the vast majority of iron supplements, including Iron from Organic Curry.
While heme iron is fairly easily absorbed by your body, non-heme iron requires the assistance of vitamin C for absorption. Vitamin C boosts the amount of iron your body absorbs by forming an iron chelate complex, which increases solubility of iron in your small intestine. We include Vitamin C from Biodynamic® Amla Fruit to make sure you get maximum benefit from the iron.*
The Curry Leaves and Amla Fruit that we use to make Iron from Organic Curry are grown in Demeter Certified Biodynamic® orchards in India, a region where both curry and amla trees thrive.
