In the wild, dog and cat species eat mainly meat. In fact, cats eat only meat, while dogs are known to munch on berries, fruits, seeds and grasses. When they consume vegetables, it’s almost exclusively from the digestive tracts of their prey, where the vegetables have been broken down by digestion.
