My son's dog loves these. I do break up the pieces and watch her as she eats them.

Our shih tzus love these treats!! Our elderly dog doesn't have teeth in the front but she is able to chew these because they're so thin. Sometimes I crumble them on top of their food or in a bowl. I have their water dish nearby as the treats are dried. Just ordered 3 more boxes!

After reading the review about how sharp the treats are, and receiving mine, and seeing that the sharpness really was sharp, I grind them up and use them as a topper, instead of feeding whole.

Here is my review: I hate to say anything negative about this product, as I really like many of Dr. Becker's products, I love the ingredients, and my dog absolutely loves the taste. However, I stopped giving them to her and here is why: The last time I gave her a couple just before bed time (I break them in half first). She is a 95lb GSD. As usual, she snarfed them down. About an hour later she threw up a small amount and there were pieces of the "bites" along with a small amount of thick, bright red blood. I watched her carefully the rest of the night and she was fine. The next day I took her to see her holistic vet (she actually knows Dr. Becker) and told her what happened. I brought the treats with me. She said that it appeared that my dog swallowed a piece of the treat that had not been chewed up small enough and it likely would not go own her esophagus. Finally, she threw it up because it would not go down and it likely turned sideways and cut her esophagus in the process. These "bites" do have rather sharp edges once you break them (or they get chewed). So even though this is not a common thing, I feel people need to be aware that it is a possibility (and it doesn't matter how big/small your dog is - none of them chew their food 20 times before swallowing). Again, she loved these and I was heartbroken because I had to stop giving them to her, but it was just no longer worth the risk. So, keep taht in

My dog absolutely loves Dr. Becker’s Beef & Bison Bites. He loves the taste and they are so good for him. I am very particular about what I feed my dog, so these are perfect. My dog and I highly recommend them!
