Fleas and ticks are more than an itchy nuisance – they can carry and transmit potentially harmful bacteria, viruses and even tapeworms to your cat or dog.

The traditional veterinarian industry’s answer to the growing flea and tick crisis is to use harsh chemical-laden collars and spot on products. However, there have been more than 75,000 incident reports over a nine-year period with just one of the top-selling flea and tick collars, including 1,698 pet deaths and nearly 1,000 incidents harmful to humans.

Free of harsh chemicals, the Herbal Repellent Collar uses a special blend of natural oils that allow it to work for up to four months. Along with its active ingredient, Geraniol, it contains Wintergreen and Almond Oils. It is a safe, effective and convenient option for several different reasons:

  • Unlike other pest repellent collars, the herbal oil blend is integrated throughout the collar – not just applied to the outside. This enhances the collar’s effectiveness and longevity, especially when it gets wet during swimming or bathing.
  • With three varieties available for cats and kittens, small dogs and puppies, and large dogs, our collars are veterinarian recommended for all sized dogs four months and older, as well as cats and kittens.
  • It can be used by itself as an effective solution for low exposure conditions or combined with Spot On Topical Herbal Repellent for high pest exposure situations.

Provide your pet with the pest repellent protection he or she needs with the Herbal Repellent Collar, alone or combined with our other high-quality herbal pest repellent products.

Order your Herbal Repellent Collar today in the perfect size for your pet: cats and kittens, small dogs and puppies, or large dogs.

    • Great collar, bad batch

Love these collars. They seem helpful in our high tick season but two of three collars broke in first day, one broke in two places. The plastic seems brittle on this batch.

    • Not Happy

I bought this flea collar last year. She was wearing another brand so I finished out the season and saved this herbal repellant collar for 2022. The first thing I noticed is the smell......very pleasant, not medicinal, but I love herbal smells. Next, the instructions were weird. They didn't mention the purpose of a long "string" type piece attached to the collar. The buckle snapped before I could even put it on my dog. The only thing I know to do is tape it together, but I doubt it will stay put. Had such high hopes for this alternative tick prevention. I buy lots of Mercola products for humans. This is such a huge disappointment. I wouldn't even give it one star but must to leave the review.

    • Herbal Repellent Collar

I have been using these collars since 2018. They work great in addition to the Dr Mercola herbal flea & tick spray. I just ordered one and received it today. VERY Disappointed! I could not get the pointed end to go into the buckle part of the collar. After several attempts the pointed end piece broke off in addition to more of the collar breaking away. SO Disappointed!!! I finally used a zip tie to keep the collar together on my dog. Today is the first day I am using this collar. I hope the rest of the collar does not break away. Dr. Mercola... Please correct this with your manufacturer..love the product but may not buy again due to bad quality.

    • Not the usual quality

If you have to cut off the buckle end and tape it to the regular collar, why pay for these? Clearly defective structure of the collar. But with that being said, they do the best job of keeping fleas and ticks at bay. Hmmm….should I or shouldn’t I?

I live in Michigan with lots of ticks. I have very furry Bernese Mountain Dogs. We don't use chemicals and feed a raw diet. These collars work at keeping ticks off their skin. They can still get ticks on their fur but this season I have only had two tick attach, which is amazing in itself. The problem is the collars break into tiny pieces. The solution, cut off the buckle, that doesn't work, then I use gorilla tape to take the tick collar on the inside of my dogs collar. I use three pieces of tape and make sure the side you pull the strip off of is facing the dogs skin. I replace every 30 days, not four months.

    • Why breaking???

I purchased three different collars this year, one through this site and two through Amazon. I had used the collars last year and loved them. These three arrived and were quite poorly formed. On two of them the tab wouldn't fit through the clasp at all. On the third, it did fit through, but the collar broke within two days. A real disappointment!

    • Herbal Repel Collars

I have been ordering these for several years and they were great. They must have switched suppliers as all 4 I bought (amazon Dr Mercola) broke off within a few hours of being put on my 2 dogs. These are no longer useful - Please fix this issue

    • Great product except for breakage

We've used these collars along with the "spot on" topical for about three years on our two dogs. They are outdoor dogs and are constantly exposed to ticks and fleas. We've had excellent results, but the breaking collars are annoying. This wasn't a problem initially, but over the past year we've had three collars break. What is really a five star product has become a four star product because of the breakage.

    • Good results but poor design.

This collar works great when used with spot on topical and the spray. However the collars do break quite often. I save them and peice them together. Only 4 stares due to them breaking.

    • flea collars

The last two collars I put on my dogs snapped in two within a week. I think the collars are highly effective but as I stated, the last two collars snapped in two and I had to staple and tape them back together in order to use them. Otherwise I have used these for years with good results.

    • worthless

Sorry to say it, but these are about as close to worthless as anything I've ever bought for my 3 canines. Five days after putting these on the dogs, one night my pit bull rolled over on her back while lying on the bed, and I counted no less than a dozen fleas running around on her belly. Approximately week after I got these collars, two of them broke right in two and fell off the pit bull, and my coonhound. Really flimsy. Save your money. I thought about asking for a refund, but figured that wouldn't get anywhere.

    • It Works

For a few years back I started using these collar on all three of my dogs. Beginning in spring I will put these collars on my dogs. We have a cat that is mainly an outside cat and she gets one, too. We live in the Deep South my dogs are always in and out with these collars we have no flea problems. Usual around the beginning of June the dogs will get the Spot On treatment.
